How to avoid becoming a big bottomed Blogger and chronic “Nibbler.”

Have you ever been sitting at your desk working away at a blog post when all of a sudden you feel so hungry you just have to get up and see what’s in the fridge? Do you find yourself rationalizing that in order to produce good work you absolutely NEED a sugar hit? You know this is absolute nonsense, but your feet seem to have taken on a life of their own.  You feel powerless to stop walking as they carry you to the kitchen, the fridge, or into the biscuit tin. Ladies, it is time to wake up and take action because you are on the slippery slope to Blogger’s Bottom. This is something to be avoided at all costs, because once it takes up residence on your hips, it is a ruthless squatter, and very difficult to evict. Not only can”Blogger’s Bum”  have a mega negative impact on your joie de vivre, your morale, and your energy It can have a disastrous effect on what the French so elegantly call your “Silhouette”.

The “Munchies” are mega bad news, for a blogger. If you do not take action “They” will get you in a relatively short time.  Blogging is very hard work, but although you are giving it all you have … this does not change the fact you are not physically moving AT ALL! Blogging is a stationary activity.Whilst you may be using a tremendous amount of brain power, YOU ARE NOT actually burning any calories.

We’ve all eaten when we are bored. Sometimes without even realizing what we are doing, it is extremely easy to do. The sneaky part is that we talk ourselves into believing we are hungry when we are not. We never go for good healthy snacks, our “hunger” demands chocolate, biscuits, ice cream…It might not be so bad if we snacked on carrots or apples when we were bored, but who does that?

Boredom eating gives the pleasure centers in our brains some instant gratification.  We are not imagining it. Sugar genuinely DOES give us a real energy surge, but using sugar to relieve boredom and anxiety, which when you look a little closer is usually lurking somewhere in the equation is not a good solution.
